Basically, African Food Box is a meal kit service that aims to create boxes that takes you on the journey across Africa with recipes that specifically crafted to celebrate the diversity in Africa flavours.
We currently have the Moja box (A5 mailing box), this is our standard single box this box contains one recipe. The Mbili box (A4 mailing box) comes with two recipes of your chooses or two of the same. When you order two recipes we send them in Mbili box unless specified.
Currently, our boxes are designers to serve 4 people (depending on portion size). Some of our customers for one or two and save the rest for later. We also include information on how best to store and reheat the recipes in recipes cards.
African Food Box has a variety of recipes that could potentially contain an allergen. Ingredients are stored separately to minimise cross-contamination. We have a list all of the allergens on our recipe cards, and the website when you are selecting your recipes. We highlight specific ingredients which contain allergens.
We are very mindful of the sustainability of our packaging and always aim to use recycled and biodegradable packaging to reduce our environmental impact. Refer to recipe cards for moreinformation on packaging.
Currently we accept all major debit and credit cards through our payment provider stripe
payment.
Delivery
Mbili (Mix/Double) Box

While we do our best to meet these time frames, during busy periods there may be some changes and deliveries may take longer. There may also be situations, (including but not exclusive to poor weather conditions, customs delays, local postal delays and tech updates) which result in a longer delivery.
Our Moja and Mbili boxes are designed to fit through most standard letterboxes and don't require a signature. However, if you order more than one Moja, Mbili-box, this will be a parcel and will not fit into a letterbox.
We offer standard delivery on all of our shop orders. We deliver to the whole of the UK using Royal
Mail and usually boxes arrive within 3-5 working days. Due to COVID-19 please allow up to 7
working days for your box to arrive.
We’re sorry, we cannot amend any part of your order (including the delivery address) once you have placed an order with us our team work hard to make sure we are promptly starting to pack and process your order. If you are unhappy with your item(s) or no longer require them, you are welcome to send them back to us please refer to how to return tab.
Yes! Any unopened Box; in its original condition and packaging with any enclosed documentation, can be returned to us within 14 days of receipt for a refund. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. In the unfortunate event that you are not, please contact us by email at returns@afrian-foodbox.com within 7 days of receiving the item. Return your items within 14 days of receipt in order to obtain a refund.
- Please include a return note Goods will only be accepted for return if they are dispatched within 14 days of delivery unless we have notified you otherwise.
- The item is your responsibility until it reaches us. We recommend therefore for your own protection we recommend that you send the parcel using a delivery service that insures you for the value of the goods. The cost of returning the item to us is your responsibility.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will drop you an email about your refund, which will take 5 working days to land back in your account. Delivery charges are only refundable where goods are faulty and a refund is made. The refund will be made to the original payment method used.
